Progressive Chestnut Express in Comfortable 2yo Maiden Win

Absolutely delighted to see Chestnut Express comfortably win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) 2yo Maiden over 6f at Naas today.

She's a very progressive filly who has stepped up in each of her runs. She traveled well throughout the race today and I thought she looked the winner from quite a way out. She has a lovely temperament and is as kind and genuine a filly as you are ever likely to find. Has speed for 5 furlongs and will also have no problem stepping up to 7 furlongs in the short term.

It gave me great pleasure to get another winner on the board for her owners the Straight To Victory Syndicate who are a great group of lads and are a joy to train for. I purchased her at Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale last year on their behalf for £42,000. The Bird Catcher at Naas next month is a race that could suit her well and I also expect her to run in Stakes races before the end of the year.

She's the type of filly who will improve again from this run and will be even better next season. She'll do plenty of growing over the winter and there'll be lots to look forward to with her as a 3yo.

Chris Hayes gave her a great ride again today and gets on very well with her. Another great job done by all the team at home and many thanks to them. Congratulations also to her breeders Yeomanstown Stud. By their own sire Camacho who is establishing himself as a sire of real potential.

Many thanks for all the kind messages we received since the race.
