Our First 2YO Runner of The Year, Madame Thunder, Wins on Her Debut

May 28, 2015

Madame Thunder shows great promise to win on her debut for the very appropriately named Straight to Victory Syndicate.

She is a very talented filly and was the first runner for the syndicate, who are a great bunch of sporting owners based in Dubai, London and Singapore. I bought Madame Thunder for the syndicate at the Goffs Sportsmans Sale last October for EUR17,000. That is looking like exceptional value after she won on her debut despite both the ground and distance not being in her favour.

Given a lovely ride by Leigh Roche she quickened up impressively and was going away at the finish. I think the form of this maiden will prove to be very strong, with impressive sectional times set by a nice looking bunch of fillies. Next stop for Madame Thunder will be the Albany Stakes (Group 3) at Royal Ascot on 19th June. She wil improve significantly for her Naas debut, particularly when she gets better ground and trips of 6 furlongs and above.

I think this filly could be anything. Undoubtedly the easiest moving and most clear winded filly I have ever come across she has real class about her. She's very exciting. We've been inundated with queries from people wanting to buy her but thankfully the syndicate have decided to hold rather than sell at this point.
