On his return to action after a 6 month break the great Grey Danube made it win number 7 in the feature race at Dundalk on 11th December (Leading Jockeys & Trainer Awards 2015 Handicap of EUR24,000 over 6 Furlongs).

As noted by the Racing Post, this was a classy contest and he won it with a degree of authority. Leigh Roche gave him a beautiful ride yet again and let him stride into the lead when none of his opponents wanted to make it. He's a very flexible horse and can lead or sit in depending on the circumstances.

As the Dubai bound pair of Jamesie and Seanie closed on him at the furlong pole he dug deep to win by 3/4 length at the line. He's as genuine a horse as you could ever hope to own and a fierce competitor too. He came home to the yard with an extra spring in his step, as he always does after a win!

This was his first run in the colours of the Straight To Victory Syndicate, to which he has been leased for the 2015/16 winter all weather season. Grey Danube's win was another example of the appropriateness of the syndicate name, as when their first ever runner (Madame Thunder) won on her debut earlier in the year.

We're keeping our options open for the moment in terms of whether Grey Danube will go to Dubai or stay at Dundalk & Lingfield in the run up to the All Weather Championships Finals Day. We feel very lucky to have a horse like him to present us with that type of decision. He's a real favourite at the yard and long may he continue to produce these thrilling performances.
