Well Deserved Win For 2yo Snow Patch

If ever a horse deserved to win a race it was the tough and consistent 2yo filly Snow Patch who won the nursery at Dundalk tonight in fine style. She's one of the toughest and most genuine fillies I've had the pleasure of working with over the years. I purchased her for £16,000 at the Goffs Doncaster Premier Yearling Sales.

She has been very unlucky in her previous runs and was only touched off on the line here a few weeks ago. This looked a difficult assignment on paper tonight but I was confident she was good enough to win it. She's all speed and the opposition couldn't get close to her tonight. She's so tough and determined and gives her all every time.

Killian Leonard gave her a great ride and he confirmed our own feelings that she is not particularly in love with the all weather surface and will be even better when we get her onto the grass. She will have a very well deserved break now and we'll look forward to having her back in action for the grass next season.

I think she's a filly who will give her owners, the Shackleton Syndicate, lots of fun next season.

I was particularly delighted to get a win on the board for the syndicate. This is their first horse to run and brilliant that they have started with a winner. The syndicate has members in Ireland and UK and this filly will give them great reasons to come together for days out.
