Delighted to see Elzaam Blue get the team back into the winners enclosure again for our first win of 2023.
His win today in the "View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Handicap" was his 3rd win overall for us. He won on the first two runs of his career for us last year when victorious over a mile and today he added a win over 1 mile 2 1/2 furlongs to his record. He's a lovely horse to have around the yard and has been unlucky on more than one occasion in his races. I think there is plenty more to come from him. He's very versatile in terms of both trip and racing surface.
Dean gave him a great ride today. He controlled the race nicely from the front and kicked at the right time. He's a much valued member of our team and I'm delighted to see him riding the winner today. He's a talented rider with a good head on his shoulders and is a great kid.
Joint owner Siobhán Ní Cheallaigh is usually here for every run but couldn't make it today. I'm delighted for her. She's a great friend of the stable and loves her horses and racing. It was a very well earned winner for all our team. We are lucky to have a fantastic team of riders and yard staff. The best we have ever had, and the yard is buzzing every day. It makes a huge difference to the horses when the right people are working with them every day. Many thanks to all the team.
We'll see how Elzaam Blue comes out of this race and then decide whether to come back to Dundalk for his next run or freshen him up for the new turf season.
