Jabbar registered his 2nd win, on only his 9th lifetime start, in the Plaza Hotel Handicap at Killarney this evening.
Another win for Gerard O'Leary's Lance Bloodstock. Delighted for Ger who is with these horses every step of the way. He will have enjoyed this win, and it was nice compensation after seeing the team's Giuseppe Cassiolio narrowly beaten in 2nd the previous evening at the same course.
Dean Curran gave Jabbar a lovely patient and intelligent ride. He got the horse into a lovely rhythm and while many would have panicked with being in what could be considered an unpromising looking position turning into the home straight Dean kept his cool. He built up momentum in the straight and switched out to get to the front with a perfectly timed challenge well inside the final furlong. A great ride from a talented young rider.
The win also provided a timely boost for our own family as we watched it while celebrating our Mam's 90th birthday. She's an absolutely amazing lady in all respects and loves her horse racing. The win was the icing on the cake of a great day all round.
Well done again to our excellent team on course and at home. A great job done by all.
