Brokers Tip (in red colours in the photo) is a horse we've always held in high regard and I was delighted to see him get his first win on the board in the "Test Your Tipping Hollywoodbets Nursery" over 6 furlongs at Dundalk today.
In the early months of each year we are always looking for a horse we can target at the first 2yo race of the new season, a race we previously won with Mister Trader who then went on to be 2nd to Caravaggio in The Marble Hill Stakes. I was feeling confident that Brokers Tip was another with strong possibilities of winning that first 2yo race in March. However, he had a couple of issues which meant we ended up missing that race. He started to stretch and grow after that so we have taken our time with him and allowed him to come right since we think he's a horse with a bright future.
In each of his latest 2 runs before today he was 3rd when things didn't suit him. But he made no mistake today winningly convincingly under a lovely ride from Chris Hayes. Things are only beginning to fall into place now for this horse and I expect this will be the first of many wins for him. Congratulations to breeders Cooneen Stud and many thanks to all our team for a great job done with this horse.
We are launching a new racing club shortly and Brokers Tip will be one of the two horses the club will begin with. He's the perfect type of horse for a club since he's a young horse with tons of ability, is very straightforward and will be suited by races on turf and on the all weather. He has a great temperament also. Very laid back and nothing seems to bother him. That win today will do wonders for his confidence and I expect the club members will have tremendous enjoyment following him during his career.
