Suwappu wins comfortably on her 1st run
Very smart performance by Suwappu to win so well on her debut in the DundalkStadium.com Maiden at Dundalk today.
Although there were many in the race for which cases could be made beforehand, I was quietly confident coming here because she has consistently been working very well at home.
She's a very tough and genuine filly who takes everything in her stride. She settles, quickens, and ran strongly through the line over 7 furlongs today in a manner that suggests she'll have no problem stepping up to a mile.
There'll be a lot of improvement in her from that run and I'm looking forward to an exciting season ahead with her. She's a lovely filly to have in the team in all respects. We'll probably look at a winners race for her next and I expect she'll step into stakes races during the season.
