Flower Of May Radiates Class in Maiden Victory

Absolutely delighted to see the classy 3yo filly Flower of May win her maiden at Naas this evening with ease on only her 2nd run. She has always worked like a very solid stakes filly at home and we'd have been disappointed if she didnt win this evening.

The ground was too soft for her on her debut at the Curragh but she made no mistake tonight

and won this competitive looking 6 furlong maiden with plenty in hand. She's a very straightforward and versatile type who will have no problem dropping back to 5 furlongs or stepping up to 7 furlongs.

She's a lovely bred filly by Iffraaj and from the family of high-class sprinter Pipalong. I'm very much looking forward to stepping her up to stakes company. Her next target is likely to be the Highfield Farm Flying Fillies Listed Race (6f) at Pontefract on 20th August.

I was particularly delighted for her owner Paddy McLoughlin who is a great horseman and one of the gentlemen of the game. Fantastic to see himself and family present on the night to enjoy what I expect will be the first of many victories for the filly.

She's still a young inexperienced filly and when this one blooms fully I've no doubt she'll be a sight to behold!
